Sensors have been used in cellphones since they were invented but if we talk about SmartPhones , Sensors are the thing thats make a SmartPhone Smart .. With the help of various sensors, man-made devices are able to feel the world like God-made creatures do..

The most popular sensors which most SmarPhones have & their basic functions are 

  • Accelerometer : 

    An accelerometer measures proper acceleration & detects angle..  When the phone is rotated for 90 degrees, it can automatically switch between vertical display & horizontal display.When we move the phone up and down, the accelerometer sensor sends the corresponding information to CPU and by which softwares can control the menu selection, flipping, image switching and other operations.

    • Gyroscopes :

      Gyroscope sensors measures angular velocity (rqotational angle).. A Gyroscope is  Spinning wheel or disc in which the axis of rotation is free to assume any orientation. In racing and other games, accelerometer can even replace the arrow keys, to turn, accelerate, and break the vehicle by roating the phone at different angles, thus making the game more entertaining..
